TTL! Presents a District 2 Town Hall: Let's Talk!

  • St. Louis County Library - Clark Family Branch 1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard St. Louis, MO, 63131 United States (map)

Let’s gather and share stories of who we are and why we are choosing to be engaged in Democracy!

We’ll consider points made in Love Your Enemies: How Decent People Can Save America from a Culture of Contempt by Arthur Brooks. We’ll also visit strategies from Monica Guzman’s book, I Never Thought of it That Way: How to have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times. Through our own personal stories, we'll discuss what most concerns us most. We'll share actions we have taken that have been effective and brainstorm further actions as a community, that we each can take to move the needle further.

Finally, we will plan how we begin to talk to others on the periphery to bring them into the conversation. We’ll work on strategies to help extend these conversations further into our communities.  Learn how to enhance your ability to talk to others, with positive outcomes and actions, “rippling out” to others with opposite views and bringing in the bystander.

We'll leave with next steps, future offerings from TTL and, a surprise uplift activity!
