Canvass Club - Heartland Wins
What issues will bring voters out in the 2026 midterm election? Let's ask them!
Join us on Saturday, September 20th, to talk to voters and start doing the real work to flip Missouri's Second Congressional district. We will be meeting in the O'Fallon, MO area at 10:30am. The location and address will be provided closer to the date for privacy reasons.
We will provide a list of doors to knock, and you will not be speaking about any candidate, so this is a great opportunity for everyone from experienced canvassers to complete rookies. We will be listening to what issues are on voter's minds right now, and seeing where those conversations take us.

Make Billionaires Pay
As the United States braces for extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes, the Trump administration just rammed through a mega-bill defunding our communities to give handouts to billionaires. They’re dismantling our democracy, attacking immigrants, and feeding the war profiteers. The attacks on our people are directly tied to the attacks on our planet. The billionaire fascists are hoarding resources and leaving working-class communities across the globe to face the impacts of extreme weather and rising seas.
Among Trump's billionaire buddies, a handful of Big Oil & Gas executives are raking in profits while the rest of us pay the price of rising costs, toxic pollution, and worsening climate disasters.
All across the world, authoritarian regimes are on the rise, but people are fighting back. We are uniting across the world to demand a better future for our communities and for all living beings.
Shut down billionaires. Fund our future. Shut down fascists. Protect migrants and the global majority. Shut down polluters. Defend Mother Earth.

Policy Matters: Discussion of World Happiness Report & Abundance, by Ezra Klein
We will share the World Happiness Report, that came out this March. Let’s engage in discussion on how this informs us to improve the well-being and happiness of our own community, and to advocate for the future! This year’s report is “Caring and Community!” - just what we need!
Along with this, Erza Klein’s latest book, Abundance, is the perfect companion to this report. Klein & Thompson discuss policies that created the situation we are in and ways out! Important knowledge and understanding to internalize for your dialogue with others as we advocate for a stronger Democracy & future. Focus is on Housing, Transportation, Energy and Health. In this TALK, we will . . .
Brainstorm what we believe brings an individual happiness, a community and a nation.
Dive into the WHR - We will look at each section and dissect the data collection technique and the results. Where does the US score relative to other democracies?
Look at this in our own lives (Caring/sharing, sharing meals with others, living with others, connecting with others, supporting others, trusting others, giving to others) We may also look back at other recent reports.
Discuss how we can use this data to develop policy that can help us build a happier life for oneself, and improve well-being in our own communities.
Abundance . . . Discussion of suggested future policies to rectify the flaws of the past and how these tie into the WHR.
Next steps . . . How do we get this to our friends, neighbors and representatives to enact policy changes in the public forum and political platforms.

Good Trouble Rally
Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.
From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Born Here, Belong Here Protest (July 16)
Our newest member of the leadership team, Chad Bernstein, joins us from the South County STL Resistance. Every Wednesday of this month, he's hosting a weekly protest. This Wednesdsay, you can join him at the South Rock Hill Overpass at I-44 to protest Trump's attack on Birthright Citizenship. Bring your signs and your voices, and stand up for one our core, constitutional rights.

Let’s engage in discussion on how this informs us to improve the well-being and happiness of our own community, and to advocate for the future!
