Join Indivisible STL for our monthly membership meeting. This month, we'll be joined by Heather Fleming, the Director of the Missouri Equity Education Partnership, and Zebrina Looney, a Regional Organizer for People Not Politicians. Heather and Zebrina will tell you what’s at stake right now in the state legislature, focusing on our current fight against redistricting and conservative attacks on education.
Zebrina Looney is a proud 30 year resident of St. Charles County, Missouri. Zebrina served as Regional Organizer for the People Not Politicians campaign, advocating for fair representation and fighting unconstitutional gerrymandered legislative maps. She continues her organizing work statewide through leadership roles with Show Up Missouri and Missouri Jobs with Justice, building people powered movements that center democracy, worker rights, and community voice. In 2023, she was elected President of the NAACP St. Charles County Branch, where she leads efforts focused on civil rights, educational equity, community empowerment, and economic justice.
Heather Fleming is the founder of the Missouri Equity Education Partnership (MoEEP) and a former English teacher who has become one of the leading voices for educational justice in Missouri. Through MoEEP, Heather Fleming fights censorship, defends inclusive education, and builds a movement for equity in our schools. She’s also the author of two powerful, accessible books: My Black Friend Says and The Advocate in Me.
Doors open at 6:30 for mingling and conversation.
